There are both vegetarian (for example onion-based) and meat-based okonomiyaki in the menu. Beware of eggs though, i believe they have one in the dough. There is an English menu with ingredients list, just look carefully through it
Yes, and the staff are patient when working with English speakers.
Hello, no it's not intended to be but maybe you can ask the staff if it's possible.
Yes, just tell them about your dietary restriction and they bring the right ingredients
Okonomyaki + beer (2 pers.): 2600 yen
I do not understand. Please contact directly to the shop.
No, they aren't.
Authentic okonomiyaki place. Traditional taste, not many variation on the menu. Good price. Has English menu and the staff is friendly. You can either cook it yourself or ask the staff for assistant. Nice local experience if you pass by this neighborhood.
Delicious; a great experience if you're just touring Japan. English menu, several vegetarian options, friendly staff and cool setting.
No air conditioner, a bit too hot. But the food overall is nice. You got to make your own food so worth a try :)
It's famous for a reason. Incredibly delicious and the staff's personality are just as sweet! You're given a batter with the requested toppings to mix and pour onto the pan. Came here twice but the one before summer was more memorable I'd say. Note to self: there are only fans and during the summer it's really really hot inside!
Arrived at about 4pm, so there was no crowd. Take off shoes before you enter and cook your own dishes. Staff was having their break time during our time there so service was not exceptional unfortunately. I didn't really like the fact that you weren't allowed to buy extra toppings. So you can't have a seafood okonomiyaki and add on say, rice cakes. The interior looks very old and well loved. Taste is nothing amazing but I guess people find it fun to cook and make their own food. I feel it's more of a novelty to come here, most probably will not return.
Very good food, however prices are rising every year. Probably in the near future it will be more of a tourist attraction than restaurant. All in all, one of the best place to “experience†okonomiyaki.
Very best Okonomiyaki Restaurant I've been in Japan. Unlike many other restaurants, you get to make your own okonomiyaki so it is fun as well.Their building is old (authentic and full of history) so they do not have a proper AC so ot gets hot but it is worth the visit. Price is good as well. You must order one dish per person.
Friendly and good for tourists. Traditional style, you take your shoes off at the entrance. They will help you cook it. Cash only. No AC, so it can be very hot, just drink water or beer!
Such a traditional experience. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Delicious okonomiyaki!
Good food, great ambience in a old jap house. Service was excellent
Friendly and good English menu yet feels authentically Japanese with a great atmosphere. Is very warm so dress accordingly. Loved the Okonomiyaki
Very good and they have vegetarian options! You cook yourself but they'll help you.
My brother found this place online and just had to try this authentic style Japanese eatery. It opens at 12. So we had to walk around for a bit more when it was already incredibly hot. No shoes inside. We sat on the floor. The sign outside said “no ac very very hot†and we still went it. The food is very flavorful. If you ever had a egg fu young from a Chinese restaurant it’s almost the same but on a skillet. Though there is a language barrier. Their hand gestures on how to cook and apply the sauce was on point. There and hand fans available as well as eat table has a table electric fan. They were very nice to shelter a group of tourist out of the rain
Super friendly and welcoming place. There's an excellent English menu with easy explanations on how to make my own Okonomiyaki dish, which turned out delicious! Thanks again to the cute and friendly host who helped me out!
Pretty unique dining experience for Tokyo as this is one of few wood house restaurants left in the area.Having said that the food was nothing special and a little over priced. This place seemed very popular for tourists. Did not see a single Japanese person in here...
Very nice place, great okonomiyaki of reasonable price
Traditional okonomiyaki. You cook it yourself, so it's fresh and a fun experience!
Fine place to experience okonomi yaki and yakisoba. Japanese style, sitting on the floor. Cash only.
This was such a fun experience, great food, excellent staff. You take your shoes off at the door, put them in a bag and take them to the table. It was warm in the restaurant; which was heated by the individual griddles at each table. You order and mix the batter for your savory pancakes then cook it yourself. Dress it with sauce you brush on, mayonnaise, and too with seaweed flakes. Delicious and so fun!
I must admit it was almost awkward to realise how touristy this restaurant was : the vast majority of customers were groups of foreign visitors, which is not a bad thing in itself of course ! The okonomiyaki were very good and the place is adorable ! I imagine making people cook their own okonomiyaki allows the restaurant to feed a lot more people than it would under normal circumstances, and I think it could be particularly appreciated in a cold weather since the heating tables are super hot ! Only the concept itself seems to appeal to foreigners way more than Japanese people.
Quaint little shop in a quiet neighborhood. Long wait but the fare was pretty delicious. The staff gave clear instructions on how to prepare our own Okonomiyaki. You can ask them to help you with that...
Came across Sometaro by accident after visiting the ‘utensil street’ Excellent friendly staff and very good food. We were made very welcome and did not want to leave ! You take shoes off at the door and sit on the floor. Highly recommended. We were the only foreigners in the restaurant.
Hidden Okonomiyaki gem close to Asakusa station. Good place for foreigners to cook their own Okonomiyaki at the tables equipped with an iron griddle or teppan. Most of the staff speaks basic conversational English. Till last year end (December) they only accepted cash payment.
Wonderfull evening with a DIY okonomeyaki!! Very Delicious!! Greetz from GER tourists!!
Nice and friendlh staff. Food is good.
Friendly staff and good food, which you fry on your own barbecue at the table. I liked the okonomyaki pretty much! I definetly would return to this restaurant, which seems to be popular amongst tourists.
Very nice people and food. It was fun making it by yourself.
Traditional restaurant, floor seating, great staff, fry yourself and about 1000 yen cash only
Cute place with very nice Okonomiyaki! A bit hot inside but with fans its tolerable because it becomes a part of the experience. The place is popular and there’s a risk that you will have to wait 1-2 h for a table. Its worth it.
This is one of many amazing places in Tokyo for authentic japanes eating experience, you'll take your shoes off and will cook your meal (don't worry the staff are very friendly, speak English and they will help you out and instruct you as needed). Super tasty a d enjoyable.Prices are fair so it's not pricey at all.
Oishi okonomiyaki. Cook your own on a hot plate Really friendly staff.
Very traditional japanese okonomiyaki restaurant, delicious!
Love the okonomiyaki here! Reasonable price with a very authentic atmosphere
Aside from the absolutely delicious food, staff were very friendly and helpful. This was my first Okonomiyaki experience so they showed me how to do everything and kept coming back to check that I was OK. Great vegetarian options too 😊
Very easy and fun to cook your own okonomiyaki. Staff are friendly towards foreigners
Very nice and authentic place: wooden floors, tatami. I went around 2-3 pm, and there was only one more table occupied (by Japanese people). You flip your pancake yourself, while the staff helps when needed. Tasty : )
A simple and quite place. Great food.
Great food and the staff knew a bit of english which was great!
Great service and love the ambience! Ordered the okonomiyaki, yakisoba and the scallop teppanyaki. The butter they use for teppanyaki is wonderful
The tepanyaki was great! Okonomiyaki was ok, too little meat :(
Very nice staff, food very good, toilets are squat ones but easy to use unless you cant squat with feet flat and balance.
Lovely place! Went on a Sunday night and did not have to wait. Friendly staff. Place has no aircon but it was perfectly fine with a pint of beer. must try !!
Loved the experience of making your own savoury pancake in this authentic restaurant. Lovely staff who accommodated us even though we didn't speak Japanese. Go early if you want a table!
Very cozy and it has the best okonomiyaki I've ever had in the area. The servers were really nice and helpful as well. Definitely coming back!
A beautiful and authentic restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff was so kind and helpful in showing us how to make the okonomiyaki. One of our favorite experiences in Tokyo!
Really nice okonomiyaki spot near Sensoji, very friendly proprietors.
